My heart is rent like a broken covenant
I seek only your loving intoxication
the earth beneath my feet is unstable
an obscuring congregation
like some dank cavern 
residing below the surface
ushers me into the abyss

The fluttering vampires
sounding my position
tiny ivory teeth gleaming
in the pale moonlight
giddy for my dreams

My heart drips for your affection
I long for the warmth of your embrace
like the warm sun bronzes the skin
a joyful resuscitation

Ravage me with your thirst
consume me with your desire
take every shred of ire from my soul

only your delicate words
your kind disposition
can inoculate my blackened heart

cure this broken spirit
wrapped in chains of hopelessness
with your lovely caresses
each rusted lock spring

I have become
a ship of phantoms
haunting memories 
resist banishment
having weathered more storms
than its engineers intended
it sinks beneath the waves
ever deeper
