Lilac and Entropy (Part 3)
Walking up the onyx platform steps
heels hitting stone
echoes reverberate
I throw the door wide as I enter
"Why did you take the pedestrian route?"
your eyes are playful
tone mocking
I like the sounding echo of hardened leather
hitting the stone
remembering I'm still human
sometimes walking keeps me in touch with the earth
you move out onto the balcony
bring a lilac flower to your nostril
a sniff brings pleasure to your eyes
let a bold giggle soar out into the moonlit air
the reverberating sounds seem to catch a frosty glisten
your expression is quizzical
turn your eyes out over the oaken brethren below
chin high as you peer for any movement
mind soars majestic above the cold twisting river
"Kiara, I discovered a wonderful place."
It is in the land once known as sector xyz
the dark lady was vanquished
by a tribe of rogue sorcerers
we have manifested its existence
in imaginative spaces it is evolving wildly
you chortle with glee
"You're such a silly one Lutra"
thirst for mystery without any desire for planning
I'm one for exploration and daring
let us reveal beyond first limits span
I draw the symbols and shout with fiery command
the plasmic molten ether burns
powerful elements fusing
the circle transfiguration completing
we chant in unison
"Take us to this land
where hearts transform
create mountains from sand
where mystery removes the bland
take us beyond this simple frame
to the forest of Salvinus' Hearts Grave!"
A bright concentrated vertical beam
transfixes our body
dazzling luminescent violet
tracers arc in parabola
a giant rush of wind from where it meets our bodies
standing with staff and wand high
we shout in unison
talismans activating
bright glows myriad
and suddenly we vanish with a popping sizzle
we step out into a fern grove with twisting vines
the moon shines
you summon an orb of soft light
reveal the surroundings
we seek a place to lay down and rest
speak an enchantment
the light splits like cells dividing
hundreds of tiny light searchers
take to the trees
zoom around rock outcroppings
peer into gnarled roots
until they discover
an old and strong soul
a cave in the nearby wood
sharing vision recognition
I cancel the spell
come on Kiara
"Let's take to foot"
we dash off over the hill
brushing aside ferns and laughing
as we hop over obstacles
always aware of the danger that spurns
glancing at dark corners
it is quiet
though we hear crickets chirp
a swishing from the bushes
does not disturb our joyful repose
we come around a bend
a few birch branches bar the path
we step through into the cave
smell its ancient scent
our magic mostly spent
we summon a place to rest
steady our sleep with a pinch
from your alchemy pouch
place a ward around our encampment
invisible guardian
wakes and transports nearby
marks the target to the minds eye
we drift into a dreamless sleep
minds calmed with slow breathing
reducing our excitement
exploration on the horizon
I love you Kiara I mumble
you roll over onto my shoulder
embrace my neck
I fall asleep
to the scent of entropy and lilac.
